I will be writing an update once I get home.

Dear Elder Exercisers,
A very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season to you all! I wish you a year of shared health and happiness.
After much deliberation, I’ve decided to stop posting on this blog. I haven’t been regular with posting and neither has my heart been in my writing and I don’t want to continue doing something badly.
I wanted to express my sincere thanks to you all for building this wonderful network of friends. You have taught me much about patience and perseverance. This blog has also helped me overcome many hurtles of laziness. Claudia, you never cease to inspire me with your pragmatism, as well as deep commitment towards your exercise routine. Now that I am part of a weight lifting program and still walking regularly, I will hopefully continue building on mine.
If it is all right with you, I would like to continue reading your posts and commenting on occasion. Would that be fine?
Once again, that you all for your support over the years.
a fond farewell,
My heavens, we all seem to be having our “issues” with our bodies and schedules and making sure we get regular exercise. I want to thank Claude for keeping us on track and not taking us to task for our unreliable blogging.
I’d like to tentatively write about a new soft launch that I have partaken on the last two weeks. I am back to walking regularly, but I can not say how long or how many steps. I am trying to give myself the luxury of going for a walk without the feeling, “Now I can check that off my list”.
I just would like a few weeks time to build up my enthusiasm and resilience, before I coem back with a daily tally. Is that all right?
The other positive step I have taken is to start (softly) with lifting weights at Kieser Training center. This sort of weight training in centered more on health and preventative measures and less on fitness. I’ve been thinking about it for the last few years, but it took the recent neck injury to make me realise, “No time like now!”.
So, in summary, I’ve been doing 4-5 days of walking a week for the last three weeks and 2-3 times of lifting weights for 30 minutes. Think that I will try and see if I can stick to this schedule for the nexts weeks as well.
Thank you all for leaving your wonderful comments. I promise to go back and comment on your posts as well.
I am back again after a long break and I would like to apologise for not writing nor commenting. The neck injury I suffered really threw me for a loop. Don’t want to dwell on it, I just want you to know that I read every one of your blog posts and really think you are all doing fabulously, dispite the numerous injuries. Hopefully, we will all be back on our sprite feet (literally) again soon.
I’ve managed over the last two weeks to go for a walk at least 2-3 times a week for about 30-40 minutes. Not great, but the persisting nausea and dizziness demanded that I take things easy. Feeling much better the last week.
I hope this finds you all in good health and spirits.
I am temporarily out of the game. While helping on that last move, I injured my neck and I have been suffering with dizziness, nausea and tinnitus since. Under doctor’s care, so please do not worry. Going to take a few weeks to stabilize. Until then, I’m reading your posts and cheering you on from the sidelines.
It’s been another good week, mainly because of the cool, relatively dry, autumn weather. Love it.
Monday: 30 min. walking
Tuesday: 55 min. walking
Wednesday: 1 hr and 15 min. walking, 50 min. bicycling, 1 hr and 30 min. yoga
Thursday: 60 min. walking
Friday: 50 min. walking
Saturday: 4 hrs of helping a friend load up a moving van. Said friend had not done a move in 20 years and did not know that she shouldn’t load the boxes with too much weight. Even though I was not carrying any of the really heavy stuff, my body is still feeling the strain of it all.
Sunday: today will spent on the sofa reading a good crime book and thankfully, weather looks to be very rainy.
It has been a busy but also good week for exercise. I plan to take the day off tomorrow and so write my post a day early.
Monday: 40 minutes walking
Tuesday: 1 hour and 10 minutes walking
Wednesday: 1 hour and 35 minutes walking, 50 minutes bicycling, and 1 hour and 30 yoga
Thursday: 1 hour 10 minutes walking
Friday: 50 minutes walking
Saturday: 35 minutes walking
I wish I could have weeks like this one a good percent of the time, but have to accept that family obligations and work schedule does not allow it. Still, feeling good about the week.
